TODAY AT BORDERS BOOKSTORE IN EAST COBB

Who Said Men Don't Buy Historical Romance? Here's proof!

Despite the cold, drizzling weather, people still like to go to the bookstore which was good news for me. Borders in East Cobb at the Avenues is one of my favorite bookstores. I had a fun time, meeting new folks and even a couple of school age children that were in awe of meeting a real writer and wanted a bookmark. So funny, but I suppose I would have felt the same way at the age of 7 or 8. I'm pretty new to all this but it amazed me as I sat greeting everyone when they walked through the door, that the traffic was definitely more men today than women! When you have to sit still, you tend to notice things like that. Hence the man that bought my book in the picture. Yes, it was only one man, but I already know of 6 who've read and enjoyed my book. I never would've dreamed it possible!
While I sipped on a mocha of Seattle's Best, I listened to the Assistant Manager, Jessica, announce every half hour, that Maggie Brendan was there signing her book. Jessica was very kind to me and encouraging.
When my time concluded, the Manager,John Alford, had me autograph all the rest of my books and told me that I did well. Exactly what an author loves to hear!
What a satisfying ending to a very dreary March afternoon. I hope you had a good weekend so far. :) Happy Reading...

I just finished your book yesterday! I was sick and read it in one day. It was wonderful. I loved it. Do I have to tell you how I cried when Katie and Curly died?! I'm excited about reading Josh's story and very anxious whom the third book will feature. Can't you give us a clue?! Please?

I'm so pleased that you enjoyed my book! The fact that it made you cry means I did my job as a writer! The cover of book 2, The Jewel of His Heart, will be posted on my blog hopefully by tomorrow sometime so check back. It will feature Josh McBride. Book 3 will feature April, Josh's sister. Thanks for letting me know that you liked No Place for a Lady.:)

I kept telling myself that April has a story of her own. She's such a "meanie" in NPFAL. I didn't like her at all...she needs to be reformed!! Is it hard to write someone like April's story? We all have such a bad impression of her now...won't it be a chore to "redeem" her.

I've already passed on the word to friends about NPFAL.

Ladybug, that made me laugh! Yep, April is a piece of work, but she's the kind of character we love to hate! And love to read about. It won't be a chore because April is like a lot of us, not recognizing our own faults and everyone has redeeming qualities or I like to think so. :)
